Summary: The city or regions of Haran was located in the land of Ur (present-day Turkey). Haran was the temporary dwelling place of Abraham and Sarah, who were later joined by Abraham’s father, Terah (B:26:74).
Haran was also the name of one of the twelve cities of Sethian Empire (AZC — Adora
of Abel-Beth-Haran).
Azrael’s Commentary — Adora of Abel-Beth-Haran
The name denotes a woman named Adora who was from the house of Abel in the city of Haran. Haran was one of the twelve cities of the Sethian Empire. Adora was one of the priestesses of Haran and was herself a master weaver. With the collapse of the Empire, Adora fled to the city of Gabatha and eventually took refuge in Zion.
