Lorriel of Ramnios

Pronunciation:  LOR-ree-ehl [of] RAHM-nee-ohs

Occurrences:  3

First Reference:  Enlightenment 2:17

And there was gathered in solemn array the Cherubic hosts and there ruled among them Shadiel, and there also gathered there a remnant of the Teraphim, and there presided among them Doriel and Lorriel, being made husband and wife forever.

See:  Adorea, Doriel, ministering angel, Paradise, Ramnios, Shaemdiel, Teraphim, Zerrah of Adorea

Summary:  Lorriel, with her Beloved husband, Doriel, were high ranking Teraphim of the Elohim who became troubled after Shaemdiel, the Chief Archon, had gathered the Teraphim to voice his skepticism towards God’s Law of Agency. Shaemdiel hoped to garner support for an alternate way of progression (inspired somewhat by the Demiurge), referred to as the Law of Immediate Recompense (E:2:8-15).

After Shaemdiel’s address, several Teraphim gathered in counsel to discuss what action to take, for as expressed by Doriel, it was unseemly to disregard the words of the Chief Archon, yet it was not yet clear whether Shaemdiel’s intentions were in alignment with the will of Elohim (E:2:16-26). While Zerrah of Adorea encouraged faith and trust in Shaemdiel (E:2:27-33), Lorriel of Ramnios disagreed, reminding the Teraphim that Shaemdiel did not have the proper authority to assume the mind and will of the Elohim, and that his words would only bring darkness and confusion (E:2:34-48). The council of Teraphim came to agree with Lorriel, and an appeal was made to the House of Mithron for assistance in the matter (E:2:49).
