Mount of Olives

Occurrences:  7  (Commentary - 1)  (‘the mount’ - 2)

First Reference:  Yeshua 29:9

And they found the Lord on the Mount of Olives teaching and healing all which came unto him.

See:  Bethany, Garden of Gethsemane

Summary:  The Mount of Olives is a peak along a mountain ridge located east and adjacent to what is referred to today as the ‘Old City’ of Jerusalem. Yeshua taught often from the Mount of Olives, as it was near to the residence of Martha and Lazarus in Bethany, where Yeshua and Mary would often visit. The Garden of Gethsemane is located at the base of the Mount of Olives.

Notes/References:

Nathaniel, one of Yeshua’s disciples, died in 51 CE while praying in the garden of Gethsemane on the Mount of Olives (AZC — Nathaniel).

Now when it was evening, Yeshua went unto Bethany, and entering into the house of Martha and Lazarus her brother, he tarried many days;

Teaching in the garden and upon the mount the kingdom of God and the forgiveness of sins.
