But Eleazar walked uprightly before God always, and when he was 180 years of age
he became the father of Zanosh, and again when Eleazar was 210 years of age, his
wife gave birth to the daughter whom they called Maciah, even she who became the
most high priestess of God. And when he was old, Eleazar died, having lived 640 years.
Now Zanosh was 310 years old when he begat Eliakim, and after Eliakim, Zanosh lived
but 70 years and he died.
Summary: (c. 8,300 BCE) Zanosh was the son of Eleazar and Mishka, who served as
the High Priest and Priestess of the last remaining remnants of the Adaam. Zanosh
lived 380 years, and had a son named Eliakim (B:20:14). Zanosh had a younger sister
named Maciah, who also became a High Priestess like her mother. According the Commentary,
Maciah has been the only woman to be translated as a result of her great holiness
before God (AZC — Maciah; para. 4).
