Ziphia

Pronunciation:  zih-FAI-uh

Occurrences:  2

First Reference:  Beginnings 20:41-42

So Methuselah and Lamech took Noah and Suzanne to the holy mount, and there did they build an altar before God. And Ziphia, the wife of Methuselah, ordained that Suzanne should be the Beloved of Noah the son of Lamech.

And when this was completed, Ziphia did place the girl beside Noah before the altar of God, and together were they sealed as husband and wife by the words of Methuselah.

See:  Adaam, Lamech, Methuselah II

Summary:  (c. 5,200 BCE) Ziphia was the wife of Methuselah II and the mother of Lamech, Noah’s father (B:20:41-42). She likely served at some point as a High Priestess of the Adaam. Ziphia and Methuselah officiated the marriage of Noah and Suzanne on Mount Moriah (c. 4,095 BCE — see Adaam).
