Summary: Adar is the twelfth and final month of the Jewish calendar. It is a winter month of 29 days, during which the holiday of Purim is celebrated (14th of Adar), and preparations begin for the observation of Passover. During a leap year, the month of Adar is repeated (Adar I and Adar II). In this situation, Purim falls during Adar II.
Adar I and II occur during February–March on the Gregorian calendar.
